Serge Golovach est né en 1970 à Birobidjan, Il vit et travaille à Moscou. Son œuvre englobe plusieurs aires de la photographie, animation et video, entre la recherche plasticienne et le documentaire, notamment à l’oblast autonome juif Borobidjan. Il est l’auteur de nombreux projets socio-artistiques: anti-AIDS (2007, "Fine Art" gallery; 2008, Polytechnic Museum; 2008, Stella Art Foundation), anti-tuberculose (2009, Polytechnic Museum), anti-cancer (2009, Far East Art Museum, Khabarovsk).
